banefulbloodstream:

Eva half expected Rose to give her some lecture on how careless it was for her to lace Damon’s drink with vervain. After all, anyone could have drunken that wine bottle and it would be on Eva. But instead? The vampire was smiling. This took Eva by surprise, and for a moment she wasn’t sure if she had heard or seen correctly. After a few seconds, Eva returned the favor - only she grinned smugly. The question regarding Damon sparked an irritation in Eva - she quickly got a hold of her expression before she rolled her eyes.

“I don’t know,” Eva answered honestly with a small shrug of her shoulders, “And to be honest, I don’t care. The less time Damon spends around here, the better it is for me,” She didn’t expect Rose to understand. After all, she wasn’t the one who lost her father to a crazed psychopath. Eva did a double look at Rose, confused by the offer “Are you sure you want me coming?” Eva furrowed her eyebrows. A drink with Damon, Rose and Stefan? That ought to be interesting to see, “I mean, Damon and I don’t exactly get along. I wouldn’t want to ruin your night with my bites of sarcasm and constant attempts to poison my beloved uncle.”

Rose cocked her head in utmost amusement. One slender leg crossed the other as she nuzzled against the sofa expecting to be here for a fair amount of time. Truth be told, since Trevor’s and Slater's departure, she had been craving something other than a special friend— a plain old friend. And Eva seemed like the perfect candidate to fill the vacancy. But first and foremost, there was the dreadful idea of gathering the family together for a semblance of normal. Yes. Whatever the definition of four supernaturals going for a drink was defined as.

An elegant eyebrow quirked at Eva’s half-hearted attempt to deny the offer. “I’ll just be idle chit-chat. Don’t worry about Damon. I’ll make sure he doesn’t be so— himself around you.” There was no denting that he was a bitter concoction of sarcasm, inappropriate comments, and that signature eyebrow wiggle everyone seemed to despise. However, to Rose, she wouldn’t dare change a thing about the self-proclaimed noxious vampire. She was rather fond of his personality, albeit one that seemed to grate on most people. “I promise that if he dares provoke you I’ll have him in a headlock before he knows what hit him.” The impish grin she wore still remained, snorting incredulously, “older equals stronger, remember?

Works both ways. I could always drag you and the Salvatores.”
